Dr. Ike Ezon is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and fellowship trained retina specialist. Among other attributes, he brings expertise in small-gage sutureless microsurgery to the Jersey shore. He is Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Ike is a graduate of New York University Stern School of Business where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business, and a minor in Chemistry. There he graduated Magna Cum Laude, was a member of the competitive Stern Scholars program and elected into the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Dr. Ezon earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at New York University School of Medicine, where he was an active student leader.
Dr. Ezon completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System where he also served as Chief Resident in his final year. He went on to a coveted 2-year Vitreo-Retinal and Uveitis fellowship at the University of California San Diego. There he was regarded for his excellence in teaching and clinical care. Simultaneously he was a research fellow at the Jacobs Retina Center and was an investigator in many clinical trials on the cutting edge of retina care, including wet AMD, Dry AMD, HIV retinopathy, Vein Occlusions and Diabetes. He has authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles, and presented his work and regional and national meetings.
In addition to caring and individualized patient care, Dr. Ezon enjoys teaching residents, students and patients. He is a former high school chemistry and physics teacher. Out of the office Ike relishes the time he spends with his wife and children, and performing community service.
